The Supper club

THE SUPPER CLUB

Picture

The Supper Club is always held in an intimate space (with kitchen), and has appeared in Nundle, Melbourne, Mylestom.  About once a month I book a musician to play, while guests enjoy a meal, prepared by yours truly. Tealights in glass jars adorn the tables to create a special ambience. When guests arrive they help themselves to a complimentary glass of wine, find somewhere to sit (there are no fixed seating arrangements), enjoy each others company, and maybe meet someone new!
The food follows a loose theme; Indian, Thai, Cajun, Moroccan styles have been presented to the 60 or so diners. I love to cook, and these cuisines are among my favourites.
So far the musical talent has been superb, starting in 2013: Melanie Horsnell, Blake Saban, "Big Daddy" Roy Payne, Jimmy Dowling, Heath Cullen, Leah Flanagan, Mick Daley, Vincent Cross, Don Walker, and even Mr Barry Morgan. Add to that classical duo Mimosa, George Washingmachine, Peter Baylor, Lucie Thorne, Alison Ferrier, Ian Collard, Sarah Carroll, Chris Wilson, The Junes, Roy Paynes Hillbilly Bop Safari, Jakal, Suzannah Espie, Jeff Gibson, Liz Stringer, and the Tamworth 2340 Big Band!

Mic Conway & Robbie Long
Friday 18th June 7pm
Fancy Dress: Vintage Circus/Vaudeville
Swaino's Supper Club is back with a BANG!

In a circus of comedy, music and magic, Mic Conway and Robbie Long present a hilarious array of idiosyncratic songs that will make your jaw drop, toes tap and sides split. Audiences who know Mic from his days with “Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band” and Circus Oz will be delighted by this incarnation: Mic as storyteller of tall tales and true. There are new songs and some oldies close to Conway’s heart. He croons “It’s Only a Paper Moon” and a heart-breaking version of “Mad World”, dispenses good advice in “Never Bite a Married Woman on the Thigh” and revisits Captain Matchbox classic “My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes” and Tom Lehrer’s “Masochism Tango”. There’s magic, juggling, cavorting and that trademark tongue-in-cheek sense of humour. Stripped back, irreverent, and shameless… it’s surreal vaudeville for crooning and swooning. Unforgettable!
Tickets are $40 which includes welcome champagne, entree and main.
